Arrowhead Yacht Club & Marina, located in the Duck Creek arm on Grand Lake, was recently awarded the prestigious honor of being named the number one dealership of Cobalt Boats worldwide.

On a lake touted to enjoy well over half of the new boat sales throughout the entire state of Oklahoma, it should come as no surprise that Arrowhead would be a worldwide leader in the shear numbers of Cobalt Boats sold, but it takes more than sales volume to claim Cobalt's highest award of excellence for a dealership. Cobalt Boat founder and Grand Laker Pack St.Clair has received virtually every known award in the boating industry related to product and customer service excellence, so it comes as no surprise customer service would be a focal point within the wildly successful boat manufacturer headquartered in Neodesha, Kansas. Dealerships are educated early on of the high priority placed on Cobalt's "Customer Service Index" and its importance in selecting the company's top dealership annually. St.Clair explained Arrowhead's selection as the top dealership by saying, "Joe has assembled one of the most seasoned and professional sales teams in the country, and when coupled with his award winning service team, great things happen. I couldn't be more proud of this great team for bringing this award to our home lake." Then he added a comment, which may be the most revealing about the Arrowhead success story when he added, "This is the hardest working sales team I've ever had the privilege of working with."

In laying claim to Cobalt's number one dealership, the Grand Lake Cobalt dealership registered a lofty 99.62% Customer Service Index rating. The index primarily consists of data collected from Cobalt buyers via surveys initiated and controlled by the Cobalt team. It focuses on the sales effort, delivery and training of the new owner, how the follow-up to the sale was handled and even the degree of satisfaction experienced in having the new boat serviced. It even ranks the appearance of the dealership. There are twenty-five specific questions addressed to the new buyer in an effort to establish the effectiveness of a Cobalt dealership. One of the key ingredients contributing annually to Arrowhead's success is experience. Their sales team represents a collective 154 years of boat sales experience with Joe Harwood and Tom McKibben leading the way with 43 and 22 years respectively. Experience, a high quality product to sell and an emphasis on customer satisfaction, which translates into repeat business, has made Arrowhead a leader in the industry.

Arrowhead owner Joe Harwood commented on being selected as award's 2010 recipient by saying, "It is a great honor for Grand Lake and Cobalt owners, that for the very first time in Cobalt's over 40 year history, the largest dealer in the World for Cobalt boats is on Grand Lake. According to Harwood, Bomar's Marina, now known as Arrowhead South, is where a lot of the early day Cobalt performance and marketing testing was done. He considers himself fortunate to have been involved in that process, and as a result, developed a close friendship with Pack St. Clair and the entire Cobalt family. The 43 year veteran of the boat sales business added, "We could not be more proud to have actually become the Worlds Largest Cobalt dealer for 2010. Grand Lake has come close to winning this award many times and I am certainly happy that it was Arrowhead that finally did it."Harwood addressed the importance service play in Arrowhead's success when he said, "What I am more proud of than anything else is our CSI level in 2010, the year we were the World Champion Cobalt dealer. In most cases, as you volume goes up in sales, dealers Customer Service Index tends to move in the opposite direction. In other words the more you sell, the worse the customer service is due to volume."
